In today’s African Economy, Women seem to be bracing up to the demands of time with refusal of being held bound by any dictates relegating them to the background, concerning leadership positions. Changing the narratives is Fri Asanga, CEO of Denis and Lenora Foretia Foundation. She is a catalyst for Economic transformation in Africa. She has succeeded to fight her way to the forefront, thus raising the bars for Women. Her Profound experience, passion and commitment is a contributing factor to her appointment as CEO in 2021.
Heading the affairs of Denis and Lenora Foretia Foundation, having as mission to catalyze Africa’s economic transformation by focusing on social entrepreneurship, science and technology, innovation, public health and progressive policies that create economic opportunities for all, is a role she’s determined not to disappoint. According to Dr Denis Foretia, Co-chair of the D&L Foretia Foundation, “Since joining the Foundation, Mme Asanga has helped further standardize our operations and significantly improve execution efficiency,”.
She is a development practitioner with over 15 years expertise in financial inclusion for the most vulnerable groups on the African continent. She has succeeded to maintain a clean track record. Prior to joining the Foundation as Chief Operating Officer, she was the Coordinator for FinScope and MAP Cameroon where she oversaw the activities of the financial scoping consumer survey in Cameroon on behalf of UNCDF and FinMark Trust. She has equally served as Advisor with the UNCDF Microlead project where she helped established the computerization of networks of CVECA as well as the piloting of branchless banking at some microfinance institutions.
Her educational background is a spring board her achievement. she holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the United States International University-Africa in Nairobi, Kenya and a Bachelors degree from the University of Lagos in Nigeria. Her rise to power is therefore a call and an awakening that Women can become. YES WE CAN.
